Open Access & Copyright
Open Access, Copyright & Licensing
ASSRJ is fully open access. Authors keep copyright and publish under a Creative Commons licence, with no-embargo self-archiving rights.
ASSRJ is a fully open-access journal. All articles are freely available to read, download and share immediately on publication, with no subscription or registration barriers. Open access is funded by a one-time Article Processing Charge.
Copyright
Authors retain the copyright to their work and grant the journal a non-exclusive licence of first publication. There is no transfer of copyright to the publisher.
Licensing
Articles are published by default under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) licence, which permits anyone to copy, distribute, adapt and build upon the work — including for commercial purposes — provided the original authors and source are properly credited and any changes are indicated. A more restrictive Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) licence is available on special request.
Self-archiving (green open access)
Authors may deposit and share their work with no embargo period:
| ▸ | The submitted version (pre-print) may be posted at any time on a personal website, institutional repository or preprint server. |
| ▸ | The accepted version (post-print) and the published version (version of record) may also be posted in the same locations. |
When self-archiving the accepted or published version, authors are asked to include a link to the version of record on the journal’s website.
Reuse and attribution
Where content is published under CC BY, third parties may reuse it without seeking permission, subject to proper attribution. Authors reusing their own previously published work elsewhere should likewise cite the original ASSRJ publication.
