Advances in Social Sciences Research Journal was established in 2013 by Scholar Publishing, United Kingdom, to provide an open-access venue for original social-science research from around the world. Publishing under ISSN 2055-0286, the journal has issued content continuously since its foundation.

Throughout this period the journal has maintained a commitment to immediate open access, single-blind peer review and adherence to recognised publication-ethics standards as a member of COPE.
