Advances in Social Sciences Research Journal (ASSRJ; ISSN 2055-0286) is an international, peer-reviewed, fully open-access journal published by Scholar Publishing, United Kingdom. Since 2013 it has published original theoretical and empirical scholarship from across the social sciences, offering researchers, educators, practitioners and policymakers a venue in which to communicate work that deepens understanding of individuals, groups, institutions, markets and societies.

The journal welcomes rigorous empirical, theoretical, conceptual, methodological and practice-informed research, and is especially interested in studies that connect sound scholarship with the social, economic, cultural and organisational questions that shape contemporary life. As a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), ASSRJ follows the COPE Core Practices and observes the joint Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.

Our mission

The mission of ASSRJ is to:

publish credible, original and methodologically sound research across the social sciences;
foster dialogue between theory, evidence, policy and professional practice;
make published research freely and immediately available to readers everywhere;
encourage contributions from diverse countries, regions and institutional settings, including contexts under-represented in international scholarship;
uphold research integrity, sound methodology and responsible scholarly communication; and
support the development and application of social-scientific knowledge for public benefit.

What we publish

ASSRJ publishes original scholarship in several formats, including research articles, review articles, conceptual or theoretical papers, case studies, methodological papers, short communications and book reviews.
