Ownership and Publisher
Ownership and Publisher
Ownership, publisher responsibilities and the editorial independence of ASSRJ.
Transparency about ownership and management allows authors and readers to judge a journal’s independence and integrity. This page sets out that information for ASSRJ, consistent with the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.
Journal ownership
Advances in Social Sciences Research Journal is owned and published by Scholar Publishing, United Kingdom, an open-access publisher of journals across the sciences and social sciences.
Publisher responsibilities
The publisher provides and maintains the journal’s infrastructure and administrative services. These responsibilities include:
| ▸ | maintaining the journal website and online submission system; |
| ▸ | supporting manuscript-processing workflows and assisting authors, reviewers and editors; |
| ▸ | producing and publishing accepted articles; |
| ▸ | registering and maintaining article metadata and persistent identifiers; |
| ▸ | maintaining access to, and supporting the digital preservation of, published content; |
| ▸ | administering publication charges and records; and |
| ▸ | assisting editors with corrections and publication-integrity matters. |
Editorial responsibility and independence
Academic and editorial decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief and the journal’s authorised editors; the publisher supports the process but does not determine the fate of any individual manuscript for commercial reasons. Decisions rest on originality, significance, relevance, methodological quality, clarity, ethical compliance and the validity of the conclusions, and are never influenced by an author’s ability to pay or request a waiver, the commercial value of an article, nationality, institutional affiliation, seniority or any personal relationship with the publisher. Further detail is given in the Editorial Policy & Process. The names, roles and affiliations of the editors appear under the Editorial Team menu.
Publishing model
ASSRJ is a fully open-access journal, supported principally by a one-time Article Processing Charge payable only after acceptance. The charge does not guarantee acceptance, expedited review or any particular outcome. Current fees and any waiver arrangements are described under For Authors, and the journal’s business model and revenue sources are set out in the Editorial Policy & Process.
Publisher’s journal portfolio
Scholar Publishing also publishes Archives of Business Research, the British Journal of Healthcare & Medical Research, the European Journal of Applied Sciences, Transactions on Engineering and Computing Sciences, and Discoveries in Agriculture and Food Sciences. ASSRJ maintains its own independent editorial standards and processes.
