All those listed as authors must have made a substantial contribution to the work and approved the final manuscript. We use the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) — specify each author’s contribution (e.g., Conceptualization, Methodology, Data curation, Formal analysis, Writing – original draft, Writing – review & editing). The corresponding author warrants that all co-authors have approved the submission. Any change to authorship after submission requires the written agreement of all authors.

The corresponding author is required to provide an ORCID iD, and we strongly encourage all co-authors to do so. ORCID ensures your work is correctly attributed and discoverable.

Declare any financial or non-financial interests that could be perceived to influence the work (e.g., consultancies, holdings, board memberships). If there are none, state: “The authors declare no conflicts of interest.”

Identify all sources of funding for the research, including grant numbers. If the research received no specific funding, state this.

Include a Data Availability Statement describing whether, and how, the data supporting the findings can be accessed (e.g., a repository name and DOI/accession number, available on request, or subject to restrictions). We encourage deposit of data in a recognised repository wherever ethically and legally possible.

Research involving human participants must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki, have appropriate institutional ethics approval, and confirm that informed consent was obtained. Where individuals are identifiable, written consent to publish must be obtained. State the approving body and reference number.

If generative AI tools (e.g., large language models) were used in preparing the manuscript, this must be disclosed in a statement naming the tool and its version and describing how it was used. AI tools cannot be listed as authors, and authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all content, including any produced with AI assistance. The use of AI to fabricate or manipulate data or results is prohibited.

All submissions are screened for originality using plagiarism-detection software. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, redundant (“salami”) publication, data fabrication, or image manipulation will be rejected and may be reported in line with COPE guidance. Authors should avoid dividing a single study across multiple papers.
