Article Types

The article formats ABR considers, with indicative word counts.

ABR considers the following article types. Word counts exclude the abstract, references, tables, and figure captions, and are guidance rather than rigid limits — clarity and completeness matter more than length.

Research Article Original empirical or theoretical research reporting substantial new findings. 6,000–10,000 words
Review Article Critical, structured synthesis of an existing body of literature, identifying gaps and future directions. up to 15,000 words
Conceptual / Theoretical Paper Develops or extends theory, frameworks, or models. 6,000–9,000 words
Case Study In-depth analysis of an organisation, sector, or business situation. 5,000–8,000 words
Short Communication Concise report of preliminary but significant results. up to 4,000 words
Book Review Critical evaluation of a recent scholarly book in the field. 1,500–2,500 words
