Complaints & Appeals
Complaints & Appeals
How to appeal an editorial decision or raise a complaint about the journal.
Archives of Business Research takes complaints and appeals seriously and handles them promptly, fairly, and confidentially, following COPE guidance.
Appeals against editorial decisions
Authors who believe a decision was based on a factual error or a misunderstanding of the manuscript may appeal. To appeal:
| 1 | Email the Editorial Office at abr@scholarpublishing.org within 30 days of the decision, with the subject line “Appeal — [manuscript ID]”. |
| 2 | Provide a detailed, point-by-point response to the editor’s and reviewers’ comments and a clear explanation of the grounds for appeal. |
| 3 | The Editor-in-Chief (or a senior editor not involved in the original decision) will consider the appeal. Additional expert review may be sought. |
Complaints
Complaints may concern editorial process, publication ethics, conduct of staff or editors, or the journal’s policies. Please send complaints to abr@scholarpublishing.org, with enough detail to allow investigation. We aim to:
| • | Acknowledge a complaint within 5 working days. |
| • | Investigate and provide a substantive response within 4 weeks, or explain any delay. |
Complaints are first handled by the Editor-in-Chief. Where a complaint concerns the Editor-in-Chief, it is referred to the publisher, Scholar Publishing.
Unresolved complaints
If a complainant remains dissatisfied after the journal’s process is exhausted, and the matter concerns a potential breach of publication ethics, it may be referred to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
