Our commitment to preservation

Archives of Business Research is committed to the long-term preservation of its published content. Because ABR is a fully open-access, online-only journal, durable digital preservation is essential to ensuring that the scholarly record remains available to future readers.

The journal combines distributed preservation networks, platform-level archiving, and publisher backups so that published articles are protected against loss and remain accessible over time.

How ABR content is preserved

Distributed digital archiving

Published articles are preserved through distributed preservation networks based on the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS approach, in which multiple independent libraries hold secure, verified copies of the content.

PKP Preservation Network

As an Open Journal Systems publication, ABR content can be preserved through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a community-run dark archive that safeguards journals hosted on the platform.

Publisher backups & redundancy

Scholar Publishing maintains regular backups of the journal website, submission system, and published files across redundant storage to protect against data loss.

Persistent identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) provide a durable, citable link to each article, so the version of record remains locatable even if a web address changes.

Continued access

In the event that the journal ceases to publish, preserved content held in distributed and community preservation archives is intended to remain accessible. Persistent identifiers continue to resolve to the version of record wherever it is hosted.

Self-archiving by authors

Because ABR publishes under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence and authors retain copyright, authors are encouraged to deposit the published version of their article in institutional or subject repositories and on personal or departmental web pages, with appropriate citation and a link to the version of record. Full conditions are set out in the Open Access, Copyright and Licensing Policy.

File formats & integrity

✓Articles are preserved in stable, widely supported formats including PDF and structured XML/HTML.
✓Full-text and complete bibliographic metadata are preserved together.
✓Fixity checks help confirm that preserved files remain unaltered over time.
