Abstract

The paper introduces the concept of force in geopolitics. Force acts as a measure of confrontation between low-ranking and high-ranking clusters, associations, and aggregates of land regions on the Earth's surface. The force is calculated both for the globe as a whole and for individual states. Geopolitics is determined based on the author's previous work, which took into account climatic data in terms of temperature and precipitation, terrain, and traffic costs for transporting one conventional unit of cargo from one point to another on the entire globe. Individual traffic cost profiles have been calculated for each of the territories of the selected population. According to these profiles, the procedure of association (clusterization) in the association of individual territories is carried out. The slicing of territories with subsequent clustering is considered in the context of counting the number of low-ranking and high-ranking clusters and assessing force as measures of confrontation between low-ranking and high-ranking clusters. The highest form of manifestation of large-scale clusters was the so-called “imperial towers” or simply “towers”. There were 24 such towers, all of them identified and mapped on the current political map of the world. The first top 5 territories with the highest force parameter were as follows: Antarctica, Russia, Canada, USA, China.
