Abstract

The specificity that the concept and practice of adventure introduce into tourism, and namely in island tourism, especially in the small ones, is the anthropological and fundamental human but often forgotten reality of the encounter between who arrives with its personal, social and natural identity and who receives also with its personal, social and natural culture. Tourism itself often does not provide the encounter, which implies reciprocity, but only the use of the other as object of contemplation or enjoyment.
