British Journal of Healthcare & Medical Research (BJHMR; ISSN 2753-7919) is an international, peer-reviewed, fully open-access journal published by Scholar Publishing, United Kingdom. The journal publishes original research and critical reviews across medicine, healthcare and the allied health sciences, providing clinicians, researchers, health professionals and policymakers with a venue in which to communicate work that advances the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease and the improvement of health and care.

BJHMR publishes both applied and basic research across all aspects of the medical and healthcare disciplines, with particular attention to healthcare innovation, medical technology and evidence-based practice. As a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the journal follows the COPE Core Practices, is guided by the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and observes the joint Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.

Our mission

The mission of BJHMR is to:

Publish credible, original and methodologically sound research across medicine, healthcare and the allied health sciences;
Advance evidence-based practice and improve patient care, clinical outcomes and population health;
Make published research freely and immediately available to readers everywhere;
Encourage contributions from diverse countries, disciplines and health systems, including settings under-represented in international scholarship;
Uphold research integrity, participant welfare and responsible scholarly communication; and
Support healthcare innovation and the translation of research into practice and policy.

Who reads BJHMR?

The journal serves a broad international readership, including clinicians and medical researchers; nurses, midwives and allied health professionals; doctoral and early-career researchers; public-health practitioners and policymakers; educators in the health professions; and librarians and research-support staff.

What we publish

BJHMR publishes original research articles, review and systematic review articles, case reports, mini reviews, short or rapid communications, and opinion and editorial pieces across medicine, healthcare and the allied health sciences.
